Fun Trifecta

We had a fun trifecta: soul stirring sounds by The Bash, wine and hospitality at Temecula House of Wine and tapas at Viva Vino!

It all started when my friends shared with me about the venue, Palomar Hotel in Old Town Temecula. This is where one of my fave bands, The Bash, was scheduled to play in the Hot Summer Nights concerts.

I phoned the hotel and spoke to Carlo Palma. His voice was familiar. He said he knew precisely who I was. Scrolling through the rolodex in my head, I knew him as well. Turns out we shared a table at Reality Rally reception at Wilson Creek Winery. Small world, isn’t it?

Immediately, he began rolling out the red carpet for my friends. Boy, could a lot of people learn from him. He invited us to visit his store, Temecula House of Wine. He offers local wines and is a fan of them.

Enthusiastically he offered us patio seating and shared that he would make arrangements for a Spanish eatery to come by and take our order. I must admit, blown away is an understatement of how impressed we all were by these gestures.

Carlo introduced us to Viva Veno, a Spanish boutique-style eatery packed to the rafters with charm, hospitality, exotic flavors and amazing wait staff, servers and owners!

John, the go-to guy, invited us over to try a wine concoction that was steeped with flavor and uniqueness that had my friends licking their lips and promising to return.

Bringing three sets of friends in and each trying a platter of tapas had me drooling over the sheer thought of my next visit. I see paella in my immediate future.

We are definitely going back as a group to take salsa lessons. Watch out, local dance studios. This place is amazeballs.

I told you we had a trifecta. Well, we did! The Bash performed in the parking lot of the Palomar Hotel, and they were doing what they do best: entertaining the crowd with a unique blend of sounds that draw you in. What is it about the power of music? It temporarily transports us back to memories while simultaneously creating new memories in the present time and space.
