My Morning Epiphany: You Can Grow Even If You're Broken In Some Areas

Nature's proof that things don't have to be perfect to experience growth.

Remember when Charlie Sheen had his public meltdown? Many wondered how with all of the things that were going on in his private life how he was able to function professionally. While this is an extreme example it supports the lesson in nature.

While hiking in Santa Rosa Plateau I came across a tree that was broken in one area while flourishing in another. This tree enabled me to think of the often used excuses of waiting for things to be right or perfect before beginning a project, striving for a goal or a myriad of other fill in the blanks.

It's actually one of the things I LOVE about the lessons in nature. It doesn't scream. Instead it gently prods. Whispering at times to remind us of the possibilities that surround us. In this case leading by example and giving us permission in our present imperfect states to flourish, be viable and produce.

Next time you have a laundry list of why you can't, shouldn't, won't or don't because circumstances aren't ideal.....remember this tree.

It flourished to prove that we can too!
