Family Devotes Unheard-of Time to Volunteering

Tara Wunderlich and her family members volunteer for just about every fund-raising event in Temecula.

I am “proud to be a Wunderlich” says Tara Wunderlich.  Indeed, she is justified for feeling so much pride to be a part of her incredible family, as Wunderlich is  a member of one of the most community-driven families in the Temecula Valley area.

Wunderlich and her family moved to the area from Scottsdale, Arizona in 1989 and have been heavily involved in supporting the community since arriving here.

Wunderlich volunteers for so many fundraisers that they are nearly impossible to
list.  Last weekend, for instance, she participated in The Reality Rally event that raised funds to benefit , a local organization that assists and educates breast cancer patients and their families about their various treatment options, amongst other things.

Last year, Wunderlich, just like the year before, also served as captain of Team Wunderlich in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure event and she will be sponsoring a team this year as well.

Upcoming events will also find Wunderlich pouring beer in front of the main stage at this June’s as well as participating in the annual Beer Pong Tournament -- an event that will benefit Our Nicholas Foundation -- that is hosted by the of which Wunderlich also is a member.

The New Generations Rotary Club is a big part of Wunderlich’s life, and she is pleased with the mid-forties and under age group that participate in this organization.

Also upcoming for Wunderlich is a walk to benefit victims of Multiple Sclerosis, a New Generations Basketball Tournament and a Day at Storm Stadium that raises funds for the third-graders literacy program.

Additionally, Wunderlich and her mother, Linda Wunderlich, are sponsoring a table at the newly opened ACES Comedy Club in Murrieta

When Wunderlich is not participating in a specific fund raising event, she keeps herself busy working at in Temecula where she does hair extensions, color treatments and Brazilian blowouts and assists brides and bridal party members before weddings and other special events, in addition to serving on the Murrieta and Temecula Chambers of Commerce. She also is a member of Valley Young Professionals networking groups as is her brother, Dane Wunderlich, a local realtor.

Also on the schedule for Wunderlich is playing softball -- her team is sponsored by -- along with bowling and karaoke, all of which she very much enjoys.  Furthermore, though she no longer does so, Wunderlich also previously played the drums, a hobby that certainly fit her lively and energetic personality well.

Wunderlich is the daughter of Gene and Linda Wunderlich.  They, along with their son, Dane, are also very involved in their community.

Gene Wunderlich, who is married to Lisa Wunderlich, a local actress and social worker, is a former realtor and is currently the director of government affairs for the Association of Realtors. His position often takes him to other states as well as to Washington D.C. on behalf of realtors nationwide.

He also just finished producing a play entitled “Blythe Spirit” that played at the Old Town Temecula Community Theater.  Gene Wunderlich also sits of the Board of Directors.

Tara’s mother, Linda Wunderlich, has long been involved in the community as well and is a current member of the Wednesday Noon Rotary.  She is also the owner of
the Valley Business Journal.

Tara’s brother, Dane Wunderlich, frequently takes time out of his schedule to M.C. at most of the fundraising events in which his sister is involved.

When asked where Tara Wunderlich gets her drive to participate in so many community events, she is quick to reply with a big smile that it's a part of her heritage, and that she would not want it any other way.

Wunderlich then shares two additional events in which she will soon be participating; "An Evening Under the Oaks" benefiting and the Temecula Insider’s Pub Crawl.

Wunderlich then looks at her well-populated calendar and realizes that there are two days that do not have one or more events scheduled.  She cheerfully
explains that she took two days off for her upcoming birthday, which -- given her
boundless energy -- seems almost surprising, but is definitely well deserved.

Truly, it is clear to me as Wunderlich and I conclude our interview that she and her family members make a huge contribution to the Temecula Valley and that our community benefits from her decision to do so.
