Fresh Air, Cold Beer, Food, And A Great CauseThis Weekend

Enjoy Your Afternoon While Helping to Support Local High School Athlete Nick Ramirez

It would appear that there is a fee for nearly everything and local athletic programs are no exception to this rule. Since athletes must pay for their program, equipment, travel and other related expenses, they must find a way to raise funds on their own or risk having to forfeit games due to non-attendance.  While a common way to do so in the past was to have local businesses sponsor them, their ability to obtain support from local companies in the present economy is quite difficult. Therefore, most of them tend to seek out other ways to raise the funds that they must have to keep playing.  One such athlete, Nick Ramirez, came up with a plan to raise cash this weekend and he is hoping that the hungry and thirsty public will support him.  Ramirez, who plays football for the Temecula Valley High School team, organized a fundraiser to be held on Saturday, July 21st, from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the Temecula Wine and Beer Garden in Old Town Temecula to help him gain funds to contribute to his team.  The fundraiser, which is not sponsored by Temecula Valley High School, will help to offset Ramirez's required contribution to the team.   Ramirez will be selling hot dogs, chips and a soda for $4.00 in front of the Temecula Beer and Wine Garden and is hoping to feed a lot of hungry supporters.  Additional items can be purchased separately.  Hot dogs are $2.00 and snow cones, soda, water and chips are available for just $1.00 each.  The Temecula Beer and Wine Garden is supporting Ramirez's fundraiser and would also like supporters that are 21 and older to come in and enjoy their unique fully open-air establishment and live entertainment.  This Saturday there will be two bands playing for your enjoyment.  The first will be Odd Father from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and the second will be the Dalton Gang from 7:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m.  The Temecula Beer and Wine Garden also offers an impressive number of draught beer and wine selections, as well as other items that is likely to please nearly anyone that is seeking that type of refreshment.  Any additional funds that are raised during the event will be donated to the team by Ramirez and his parents, Tim and Kelly, to help assist other players in need for their expenses.
