Daughter of Man Who Submitted ‘Scathing’ Obituary: ‘I’m So Proud of My Dad’

The Temecula daughter of a Nevada man who along with his sister submitted an obituary about their late mother—an alleged child abuser—that has gone viral due to its “scathing” nature, says she is proud of her father for shedding light on child abuse.

The widespread media coverage spurred by the obituary about Temecula resident Jenniffer Rhead’s estranged biological grandmother, Marianne Theresa Johnson-Reddick, has brought awareness to the issue, Rhead told Patch.

"On behalf of her children who she abrasively exposed to her evil and violent life, we celebrate her passing from this earth and hope she lives in the after-life reliving each gesture of violence, cruelty and shame that she delivered on her children," states the obituary, as depicted in the video above.

The obituary was printed in the Reno Gazette-Journal following  78-year-old Johnson-Reddick's Aug. 30 death in Nevada.

Rhead is the daughter of Patrick Reddick, 58, one of six surviving children of eight, whom, according to the obituary, Johnson-Reddick “spent her lifetime torturing in every way possible.”

Rhead, along with her parents, who were visiting from northern Nevada, were interviewed by “Inside Edition” Friday at her Temecula home.

Rhead said her father and his sister, Katherine, wrote the obituary as part of their healing and to draw attention and bring awareness in their fight against child abuse.

“They are in the process of organizing some programs that help heal, educate, and integrate child abuse victims,” Rhead told Patch.

“I'm so proud of my dad and all that he's had to overcome. He has an incredible story. It's a story of hope, endurance, and love. I love you, Dad!”
