High pressure will rebuild over the region this weekend, making the mercury climb into the triple digits next week.
Thursday is the last cool -- that is a subjective assessment -- day, with the temperature topping off at 88 degrees, according to the National Weather Service.
Friday will see a high of 92 degrees and a low of a springtime-like 61 degrees.
But you ain't seen nothing yet:
On Saturday, temperatures will near the century mark, with a high of 96 forecast by the NWS and a low of 63 degrees, which in other parts of the country would be considered a hot May day.
Sunday is expected to pass the century mark -- at 101 degrees -- but worse is yet to come, with the mercury expected to hit 105 degrees in Temecula Monday; good for grapes, not so much for people.
Tuesday will be more of the same, though Monday evening will be the warmest yet, with the temperature expected to reach 69 degrees, a little warm for a fall evening.
