Reading is Delicious

Attention Temecula teens: summertime is coming up fast, but that doesn't mean you have to completely tune-out of learning mode. Hangout at the Temecula Public Library and check out their free Summer Reading Program activities.

Themed "Reading is So Delicious," the Temecula Public Library has six weeks of food-themed cost-free activities lined-up for teens this summer, such as candy sushi/bento box making, marshmallow catapult contest and a Just Dance 3 party with a pizza dinner.

"Sometimes it's just fun to have a program that gives the teens a chance not to worry about school, sports, or thousands of other things," says Dan Wood, Teen Services Librarian at the Temecula Public Library. "It gives them a chance to express creativity and hang out with their friends in a relaxed environment."

The Temecula Public Library has tons of young adult fiction books, computers, study rooms and a technology homework center with volunteers to help teens with their studies.

"I consider the library one of the cornerstones of a community," says Wood. "It is also a place teens can volunteer to receive community service hours that they are required to have for graduating high school."
