A Campaign Kicks Off to Catch Child Slave Driver
A look at the awe-spiring movement and stand being taken by our youth, here in Temecula as well as throughout the world.
Joseph Kony: It's a name that should be well known by all, but I would bet that 90 percent of our world's population has never heard his name -- until now.
Joseph Kony is an African war criminal who has committed some of the worst crimes to humanity this generation has ever seen. He and his army, the Lord's Resistance Army, invade Ugandan villages and abduct children of all ages, turning young boys into child soldiers and young girls into child sex slaves.
Kony is currently placed at number one on the International Criminal Court's list of war criminals that must be stopped. His actions have gone on for approximately 26 years, and the world hasn't taken action until now.

The KONY 2012 campaign has been set in motion by the foundation called Invisible Children. The movement's purpose is to make Joseph Kony known to the world in order to try and ensure his successful arrest within the year 2012.
The movement has created a 30 minute video, which has gone viral around the world, reaching 3 million views and counting, surpassing the initial goal of 500,000 shares.

Aimed at and run by young people, the movement calls for our generation to make a difference and to care about the children and "make them visible."
The campaign aims to drum up support for and interest in the arrest of this mostrous human being, so Congress and those with influential voices in the government will have to pay attention and take action.
It is very easy to get involved in this awe-spiring movement and be a part of history. Many teens in our Temecula community are taking it upon themselves in many ways to spread the word and gain support by joining Invisible Children clubs in the local high schools and plastering their Facebook dashboards with the short film to inform their peers.
You can visit the Kony 2012 website to get involved and buy an "action kit," which includes a T-shirt, action guide, braclets, pins, stickers, and posters. This cause is extremely important, not only for our youth generation but for everyone.
