Temecula Residents Protest New Medical Clinic Providing Abortions
Large groups of residents gather to protest the opening of a new center providing abortions.
The normally bustling area of Old Town Temecula was a little busier Tuesday June 12. A medical establishment, First Care Industrial So. Cal Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Center opened reccently at the end of Old Town Front Street and has sparked controversy among a number of the town's residents due to its providing abortions among its services.
A group amassing around 50+ people gathered along the sidewalk of and accross from the center brandishing anti-abortion signs and praying in unison in protest of the medical center.
The group's presence was certainly felt by all, with many honks of encouragment and a volume of people actively protesting between noon and 1 p.m. The city police made an appearance to the protest early on only to stop the use of a microphone which was being used to recite prayers and chants, to which the group complied.

The protest was peaceful without any conflict, but clearly made the town aware of the center -- and the center aware of some residents feelings.
Whether or not those who gathered outside of the center wil do so again is unknown.
