TEMECULA MURDER UPDATE: Victim ID'd, Suspect Info Expected Soon

Five days after two women were attacked by a man inside their homes, the  identity of the suspected assailant is yet to be released.

Riverside County Sheriff's Spokesman Deputy Albert Martinez tells Patch that the suspect name is expected to be released "soon."

Meanwhile, the identity of the woman who died from her injuries has been identified as a local resident, according to Martinez. 

21-year-old Wilysha Gardner died Thursday after she was attacked around 9 a.m. in the 27000 block of Nellie Court, according to sheriff's reports.

Another woman was attacked just hours later, as she awoke to someone stabbing her, according to the sheriff's department.  The same suspect is believed to be responsible for both attacks.

The identity of the woman who survived the stabbing is not being released.
