Please,Help my Hometown

To all my families, friends, friends of friends;
Many of us, if not all, have heard and seen the devastating news that came about after Yoland (Haiyan) Typhoon that ruined most part of Visayas. Sad to say that my town in Leyte was not spared. My relatives, friends and many more are without food, shelter, medicines, and other basic necessities. I have waited days to hear from my relatives and when I did, it was heart breaking because they are running out of food and starving. With the understanding of my husband and the love of my kids, I will be going home personally to Leyte (via route LA to Manila, Manila to Cebu, Cebu to Leyte). I will be going home to check on my relatives and personally hand out help to the people in need specially to my hometown, Cambinos, Tinabilan, Palompon Leyte.

I do not necessarily like asking for help but I am doing this to help my fellow Filipinos who are affected by this typhoon. My family, relatives and friends desperately need your help. Every dollar counts to whatever you can contribute. I will be documenting everything along the with the receipts and I promise all of you that you will see who you have helped. $1, $10, $20 may seem insignificant but it goes a long way to those people who are in need. Along with money, I will also be accepting medicines of any kinds, vitamins, medicine supplies (i.e bandages, gauges, antibacterial ointments.. etc etc); small things that are useful and necessary. Unfortunately, I cannot bring a lot of stuff to Philippines because I am traveling alone and only allowed two luggage until I get to Cebu where I will meet some of my relatives and friends. From Cebu, I will use the donated money to buy food, banig (sleeping bag), tents, clothes, toiletries, mosquito nets, and other materials that are necessary. Fortunately, our water supply is good. I know a lot of my families and friends are worried about me on this travel and I truly understand all the concern but I assure you that I will be with family and friends at all times when I get to Cebu. From Cebu, myself and other people will travel to Leyte to deliver the goods. I don’t know how long I will be staying but I will try my very best to keep you all posted.

Hopefully, I will be leaving for Philippines this Sunday 17Nov13. To those who are able to give, please hand me the money or any medicine before then. I will also create a bank account to those who would like to transfer it there instead. I will update the information when I have it on hand.
