1 Injured in Fiery Motorcycle Crash Sunday on I-15 in Temecula

The crash involving two motorcycles was reported at 7:11 p.m. Sunday on northbound Interstate 15 just past Winchester Road.

A crash involving two motorcycles Sunday evening on Interstate 15 in Temecula caused one of the bikes to burst into flames and sent one of the riders to the hospital, authorities said.

Firefighter/paramedics responded to the wreck that was reported at 7:11 p.m. Sunday on northbound I-15 just north of the Winchester Road exit, according to Jody Hagemann, a spokeswoman for CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.

"The first arriving engine company reported one of the motorcycles fully involved with fire," Hagemann wrote in a report.

American Medical Response and California Highway Patrol joined seven firefighters in their response to the accident scene.

One of the riders suffered injuries described as moderate to major and was transported via ambulance to a local hospital, according to Hagemann.
