Two spot fires broke out Sunday in a wash behind Temecula Parkway and though one was quickly contained, the other began to grow, moving quickly toward a condominium complex on Kevin Place.
Residents became alarmed as the fire, reported about 11:45 a.m., at Canterfield Drive and Rein Court, moved toward the Temecula Creek Village condos at Kevin Place.
"It started as a little tiny fire ... the winds picked up ... it is moving towards the condos really fast," resident Kathryn Neal told Patch.
The first fire was contained at about a half-acre; the second necessitated five more engines and a helicopter crew, officials said.
No injuries were reported and no homes were threatened; evacuations had not been ordered as of 12:15 p.m., according to officials and scanner broadcasts.
Futher details were not immediately available.
