The Riverside County Coroner’s Office is reporting that two Temecula residents died in Sunday’s crash at Monte Vista Drive and Bundy Canyon Road in Wildomar.

Firefighters were dispatched at 4:47 p.m. to the scene where three people were involved in a two-vehicle collision.

An 80-year-old driver of a Mercury Tracer had to be extricated from the wreckage by firefighters. The Temecula woman was transported to Inland Valley Medical Center, but was pronounced dead a short time later.

The woman’s passenger – a 64-year-old Temecula man -- died at the crash scene.

Neither was ejected from the vehicle and neither has been identified yet by the coroner’s office.

According to preliminary investigation by the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, a white Mercedes 300SE was traveling north on Monte Vista when it failed to stop at the stop sign at Bundy Canyon Road, said Sgt. Peter Giannakakos of the sheriff’s department.

The Mercedes collided with the Mercury Tracer, he said.

“The driver of the Mercedes did not sustain any injuries. The names of the victims are being withheld pending notification of next of kin,” the sergeant continued.

You are both gone before your time at the hands of someone breaking a traffic law. So far with information we have from the article above.
Rest in peace and may your Lord carry loved ones, through this difficult time of sadness, anger and bring comfort and strength. Until we can get drivers to realize that running red lights, stop signs, drinking and driving, wreckless driving, speeding, texting, talking on cell phone, fixing hair or makeup, and just an overall sense of entitlement to our roads, we are going to keep having our residents killed. This traffic violation killed two people and this person should be charged with a minimum of manslaughter, after the fact, like with a DUI. A DUI violation does not get a long enough sentence for the death of another human being. Ignoring driving laws will never stop until the sentences fit the crime.

We need to change some laws requiring elderly people to pass tougher behind the wheel driving tests. In many cases, being old IS being impaired. As impaired as someone under the influence.
Yesterday I drove behind an elderly man on Grand Ave who was driving 25 mph. There was a long line of cars behind us and people were passing in the center lane. He had no business driving a car and putting my life in jeopardy.

Based on the article, it sounds like the driver of the Mercedes was at fault. Don't see where the Mercedes driver's age is mentioned. The 80 year old driver of the Mercury is the one who was slammed into and passed away.

You are right and the Mercury was T-boned by the Mercedes on the passenger side per the pictures on the Southwest Riverside County News.

All comes down to getting the "GOLD" Balanced right in the big City Hall right? We areRead More broke we are broke! We have how many more million dollar residents, ranches, farms who pay taxes, how many more business's, triple, quadruple, on and on that pay taxes, and some very large business's at that for YEARS. Yet Murietta and Menifee with just the few they have can manage to not only put in side walks, AND ALSO ACTULLY Listen their residents, instead of call them names like Paul has been, concerns and respond to them. Hell we are just now getting some attention to our driving issues with running red lights, speeding, not stopping at stop signs, driving drunk, high, or wreeklessly causing deaths and serious injuries to walkers, bike riders, skate board, scooter riders, wheelchairs, motor bike riders, and other cars. But how many lives were lost or severly disabled until we just now the last 2 weeks have been giving traffic details for different areas, cell phone details, etc. Lucky to get some sidewalks finished in 10 years if someone doesnt figure out where our "Gold" is we all pay in. And stop calling names people at the City meetings to Paul or anyone else trying to get our City to do what its there for. By the time someone in your own family is killed they will be laughing at you for standing up asking for sidewalks right? Just like on the "Patch" comment areas, always calling names instead of sticking with your fellow Temeculites and getting us something DONE! Before we loose more lives
