Alleged Armed Robber Arrested in Temecula

The suspect allegedly beat a man as he sat in his car and made off with some of his stuff.

A man who allegedly beat and robbed a Menifee man was caught at a bail bonds business in French Valley.

Kenneth James Criger, 25, was arrested at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at , 30195 Auld Rd., on suspicion of felony strong-arm robbery, using a firearm and committing a felony while on bail, according to jail records.

The victim was sitting in his car around 10:30 p.m. on Monday on Goetz Road near South Canyon Drive in Menifee when the suspect and another man walked up, pulled out a handgun, beat the victim, took some of his belonging and escaped in a black Acura Integra, according to Temecula Police Chief Andre O'Harra.

Menifee deputies identified the suspects and served a search warrant at their homes. They found the items stolen from the victim in addition to drugs and weapons. No arrests were made during the searches, according to sheriff's Sgt. Ryan Hoxmeier.

One suspect, named Johnny Coring, 25, is still at large, but he promised to surrender himself only in the presence of an attorney.
