Alleged Bowie Knife Robber Arrested

Walter Fontanilla, 26, of Murrieta, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of holding up a Temecula Jamba Juice with a knife Oct. 19.

A Murrieta man was arrested Wednesday for allegedly holding up a Temecula more than two weeks ago in Temecula.

The robbery occurred Oct. 19 at Jamba Juice at 26550 Ynez Road, according to Sgt. Keith Knotek with the Temecula Police Department.

The masked robber brandished a 10-inch Bowie knife and demanded money from two employees before leaving the business, the sergeant said in a news release.

Investigators followed up on the case, and served a warrant Wednesday on Walter Fontanilla, 26, at a home in the 23000 block of Carneros Court in Murrieta.

"They recovered evidence and subsequently arrested... Fontanilla... for armed robbery," Knotek said.

Fontanilla was booked into Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of armed robbery.
