Alleged iPad Thief Collared By Temecula Police In Ontario

Through investigation, police identified the suspect as Michael Walt Randolph of Ontario.

A man who allegedly stole an iPad from a Temecula business has been arrested in Ontario, police are reporting.

Michael Walt Randolph, 21, of Ontario was arrested in his hometown after Temecula police served a search warrant Jan. 16 at his residence, according to Sgt. Kevin McDonald of the Temecula Police Department.

The warrant was issued following an investigation that began Jan. 6. According to a report from the sergeant, Randolph entered a business in the 28400 block of Old Town Front Street in Temecula. He received service from an employee at the business and left about 20 minutes later with an iPad in hand that did not belong to him, McDonald's report alleges.

Through investigation, police identified the suspect as Randolph and obtained the warrant. 

Randolph was arrested in the 1700 block of East D Street in Ontario, then was transported and booked at Southwest Detention Center in French Valley Thursday evening on suspicion of misdemeanor petty theft, jail records show.
