Alleged Sexual Assailant Arrested in Sacramento

The suspect hadn't been seen since June 6 near his home on Secret Falls Road, in the unincorporated area of Aguanga, east of Temecula.

An Aguanga felon accused of repeated sexual attacks on a teenage boy was arrested in the Sacramento area, authorities said Tuesday.

Investigators learned Monday that 51-year-old Randy John Morasch was traveling in a rented vehicle in the Sacramento area, and notified the California Highway Patrol, which spotted the vehicle and gave chase when the driver refused to stop.

The chase ended when the vehicle was involved in a crash, and Morasch was taken into custody, Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Wally Clear said.

The suspect hadn't been seen since June 6 near his home on Secret Falls Road, in the unincorporated area of Aguanga, east of Temecula. He was allegedly in a pickup truck chasing a teenager riding a dirt bike at the time, prompting calls to 911, Clear said.

He said deputies located the boy, who used to work for Morasch and alleged that he was the victim of "previous sexual assaults" committed by Morasch.

In the ensuring investigation, detectives executed a search warrant at the defendant's property, locating evidence that allegedly corroborated the boy's story, according to Clear.

Morasch was booked into a Sacramento County jail and will be extradited back to Riverside County to face charges of kidnapping, forced oral copulation, being a convicted felon with a firearm, and two counts each of forcible sodomy and assault with intent to commit mayhem, Clear said.

According to court records, the defendant has prior convictions for assault with a deadly weapon, receiving stolen property and possession of illegal drugs.
