Anza Residents Fight to Save Their Homes
Anza resident Jose Rosa raced home from work this afternoon to help his family save its home.
Armed with only a shovel, Anza resident Jose Rosa, 20, fought to save his home from a blaze that burned more than 150 acres Friday.
“The fire started about 300 to 400 feet from my house,” said Rosa. “I would hate to see my community go down like this.”
at 12:42 p.m. at Cary and Tripp Flats roads in Anza. At 6:30 p.m. Cal Fire reported more than 150 acres had burned and was only 10 percent contained.

Full containment was not expected until Saturday morning.
A double-wide mobile home and one other building were destroyed, according to firefighters at the scene.

Cal Fire officials also reported five vehicles and a boat burned as well.
More than 250 firefighters -- aided by two helicoper crews and six air tankers -- battled the blaze, officials said.
Homes in the area were evacuated and roads were closed. The cause of the fire was under investigation.
