Ask a Cop

Temecula Patch is looking for questions to ask our safety columnist and resident Community Service Officer John Thomas.

If you ever had a question only a cop could answer, we want to hear from you. Community Services Officer John Thomas, the author of the column “Keep Your Guard Up,” is now taking questions.

If you ever wondered whether playing a saxophone on your driveway is legal, ask Thomas.

He can tell you whether walking your emu in public parks is legal and whether you can get locked up for driving a Segway while drunk.

He’s an expert in public safety, so if you want to know the best ways to keep burglars away from your house during your vacation or what to do if somebody holds you up at gunpoint at work, he has plenty of tips.

Email the editor, Peter Surowski, at peter.surowski@patch.com and he’ll pass the questions to Thomas.
