Border Patrol Makes Meth Bust Near Temecula

The methamphetamine allegedly weighed 9.92 pounds and had an estimated street value of $198,400.

The U.S. Border Patrol is reporting that agents have nabbed a suspected drug smuggler at the 15 Freeway checkpoint near Temecula.

The incident took place July 17 around 6 p.m. when border patrol agents allegedly spotted a 38-year-old male Mexican national driving a 1997 Ford F-150.

According to a U.S. Border Patrol news release, “During inspection, agents became suspicious of the man’s nervous demeanor and referred him for a secondary inspection. A Border Patrol K-9 team performed a cursory inspection of the vehicle resulting in an alert."

Agents searched the vehicle and allegedly discovered a bag of methamphetamine inside a non-factory compartment under the manifold.

According to the news release, the methamphetamine weighed 9.92 pounds and had an estimated street value of $198,400.

The suspect and methamphetamine were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration and the truck was seized by the U.S. Border Patrol, the news release stated.

With busts like this almost weekly how can they seriously justify shutting down this border station??
Jennie Jenn July 24, 2012 at 05:18 PM
I totally agree....keep it open!!
Brenda July 24, 2012 at 09:14 PM
NOT ONLY KEEP IT OPEN, but keep the lanes shut down 24/7. These guys know the times to sneak through, and are given word along the route. Great job guys!!! Keep up the great work and that is 10lbs of Meth not in our teenagers, husbands, wives, neighbors, co-workers bodies here in Temecula!! Mexican national, I am not surprised. JJ where are you, I can feel it comingggg!!!! Just think, in a perfect USA, every inspector had a drug sniffing dog, hidden people sniffing dog at each border check, for every vehicle coming through. What if every single plane coming in from anywhere but the USA was to get in line for a inspection with dogs? Every person getting on and off planes are subject to the dogs sniffers. We could easily staff these things with our soldiers who are on home duty. They would love IT!! We pay them anyway, so give them something they would cut an arm off to do, catch illegals or legals moving, making, selling drugs!!

The real US.-Mex border is 50 to 60 miles south of this mickey mouse Border control Station on the I-15 Its a total waste of Tax dollars and another example of a Gov. boondoggle. Still the world's greatest boondoggle has to be the $49 billion spent each year by TSA to harass travelers at our airports. Since 9/11 over $539 billion tax dollars has been spent (squandered) on TSA at airports. And In this same period, over 156,000 residents have been murdered in "The land of the Free" by fellow residents. Yep we have our priorities 100% correct.........

Clearly you have forgotten how our manufactured country go started. From a bunch of illegal immigrants, mostly religious fanatics , losers from England landed. Then proceeded to grab land from the natives, and killed the natives when they resisted. "Bows-N- Arrows against English Flintlocks" plus the English diseases. Brenda never forget that Europe created the USA not the other way around. Which millions and millions of poorly educated American rednecks, who never venture outside their home State, cannot comprehend. Question for you Brenda: Can you guess the next country our Military will be ordered to attack. And like IRAQ has not attacked the U.S.

Border Patrol or Narcotics Patrol ? Can a Border Patrol K-9 detect undocumented humans?
john July 25, 2012 at 05:07 AM
Yeah it's a Mexican bringing in the drugs for all the white customers.

Brenda is with JJ , she can feel it coming.

Well said, GC. (Though I'm curious whether the $49 billion spent each year by TSA is the world's greatest boondoggle, or if the $54 billion spent on our Drug War is.)
LBV Collins July 25, 2012 at 02:12 PM
Wow, Brenda, your dream of a "perfect USA" gave me visions of the Berlin Wall: the symbol of a bleak, hopeless prison for citizens. Here's a dream you may want to consider: Decriminalize drugs and spend the money on treatment instead of incarceration. Just as we allow citizens the freedom to consume alcohol, we should also allow them the freedom to use marijuana. And if they want to do something as destructive as abuse hard drugs, we should offer treatment to help them overcome their addictions instead of tossing them in jail.

Just hope they use protection... because illegals can be dangerous right?... right? is this thing on?...
TVOR July 25, 2012 at 03:26 PM
GC, the people who "settled" the original colonies were doing nothing illegal in going there and establishing colonies. They were friendly with the indiginous people. It wasn't until later that the leadership of the country decided to start forcing their will upon the natives. The treatment of the native americans is one of the most embarrassing and shameful things that has happened in the history of our nation, but it does not compare to protecting our current borders. The times have changed and the situation is much different now. The very survival of our nation is in danger from the onslaught of illegal aliens from all over the world who come here and leech off of our society.

Wasn't it our glorious congressman Issa who wanted to completely shut down the local border patrol check point.

Seems like some people on this board are extremely upset they won't be getting their drugs. It's obviously affected their ability to think rationally.
LBV Collins July 26, 2012 at 12:24 AM
Hi FM. Care to expand on your point? I reread the comments and did not get the impression anyone here is using drugs, nor advocating using drugs.
john July 26, 2012 at 02:36 AM
Thats right Murphy I guess u and I wont be making our drug buy in LA this weekend lol.
