Boy Attacked by Pit Bull in Winchester

The boy suffered a severe injury to his lower lip despite attempts to fend the dog off with a pool cue, according to news reports.

An 11-year-old boy was bitten on the mouth by a pit bull this weekend in Winchester, according to a news report.

The Riverside County Department of Animal Services reported that the apparently unprovoked attack happened at 4 p.m. Saturday at a house on Stuber Street, where the victim was playing with friends, according to the Riverside Press- Enterprise.

The boy suffered a severe injury to his lower lip despite attempts to fend the dog off with a pool cue, the newspaper reported.

The 2-year-old female dog, which was not fixed, was turned over to authorities to be put down, according to The Press-Enterprise.
