Camp Pendleton Fire's Smoke Could Come to Riverside County

A fire burned on Camp Pendleton, sending smoke drifting into the skies but Riverside County residents were in no danger, officials said.

A fire Friday afternoon on Camp Pendleton sent smoke drifting into the skies but Temecula residents had nothing to worry about, fire officials said.

The fire was reported at 5:35 p.m., according to Cal Fire but it was unclear how much acreage was burned.

Residents might see smoke Friday evening, Cal Fire officials said but there was no danger of a blaze spreading into Riverside County.
