Car Crashes Into City Hall

A Honda Accord blows out a tire and landed in the City of Temecula City Hall parking lot.

A car flew off Interstate 15 and smashed into Temecula City Hall's parking lot Friday.

A mother and her son were heading south in a 1992 Honda Accord at about 11:15 p.m. when the Hond struck a piece of metal just south of Rancho California Road, California Highway Patrol Officer Gregory Peterson said.

The left back tire exploded, sending the car across the freeway, flipping through a chain link fence and flying over a retaining wall, Peterson said.

The Honda ended up on its side in the Temecula City Hall parking lot.
The 20-year-old passenger briefly lost consciousness and awakened to emergency crews surrounding the vehicle, the officer said.

The mother and son were apparently uninjured and refused medical attention at the scene, Peterson told Patch.
