CHP to Hold Sobriety Checkpoint

The checkpoint is scheduled for an undisclosed location in French Valley.

The is scheduled to conduct a checkpoint on Friday in French Valley.

"Motorists approaching the checkpoint will see informational signs advising them that a sobriety checkpoint is ahead. Once diverted into the lane, motorists will be detained only a few moments while an officer explains the purpose of the checkpoint and checks their driver license," said CHP Offier Nathan Baer.

The exact time and location of the checkpoint will not be released.

Checkpoints are conducted in accordance with the guidelines outlined in the California Supreme Court decision, Ingersoll vs. Palmer. Traffic volume permitting, all vehicles will be checked, Baer said.

"The CHP reminds motorists to not drink and drive. If you are going to drink, do it responsibly. Designate a sober driver," the officer said.
