Controlled Burn Scheduled Near Temecula
The burn will be in the northeastern part of Camp Pendleton, and Temecula residents might see smoke, an official said.
The Camp Pendleton Fire Department scheduled a seasonal hazard reduction burn for today and Saturday.
Firefighters will burn in the Case Springs area of the base near the northeast boundary. Temecula residents may notice smoke clouds, according to Camp Pendleton officials.
The purpose of the burn is to strengthen the recently renovated fire break that runs along this portion of the base, officials said.
