A Los Angeles man suspected of involvement in the drive-in, smash-and-grab burglary at the store in was expected in court next week to answer charges of burglary and parole violation.
There are no local conviction records available for Equonne Romon Howard, who is expected in court Sept. 20.
He was arrested Thursday while walking around The Promenade following an early morning at the store, 40764 Winchester Road.
The vehicle suspected as the one used to break into the store -- a blue BMW SUV -- was found badly damaged and abandoned in a parking lot at Ynez and Winchester roads.
According to sheriff's Sgt. Kevin McDonald, three suspects got out of the BMW and started grabbing items off display shelves; as the three looted, the driver repeatedly rammed the security gate, which had clanked down behind the vehicle as it entered.
They all wore gloves, dark clothing covered their entire bodies and hooded sweatshirts were worn over heads and faces, McDonald said.
Howard was being held on no bail stemming from an out-of-county case.
