Crash Closes 215

All lanes were blocked and traffic was backed up for miles due to a three-vehicle crash.

UPDATE: Information about the freeway being reopened was added at 10:33 p.m. Tuesday.

A three-vehicle crash caused CHP to close down Interstate 215 today.

The crash was reported at 6:04 p.m. on the northbound side of the freeway just south of Murrieta Hot Springs Road.

All northbound lanes were closed, and a tow truck was called to pull a vehicle that witnesses reported had hit a guardrail and plunged into a ravine, according to a CHP dispatch log.

The road was reopened around 7 p.m., according to the log. Information about what caused the crash and the conditions of the victim or victims was unavailable.

No, just idiot drivers trying to get somewhere fast when they don't have to. Not giving a rats butt who they are going to run into and seriously hurt or kill. WE ALL know how fast everyone goes on the 15, and 215, even around the exits and freeway interchange. Whatever they thought they were speeding to last night got them crashed cars, hopefully someone cited for causing it, and missed a hot date.
