Credit Thief Wanted for Spending Spree

A surveillance tape shows a man believed to have used credit cards stolen from a Poway vehicle to make $6,000 in purchases.

A man who spent about $6,000 on stolen credit cards in Temecula and north San Diego County was sought today.

The two credit cards were stolen out of a vehicle in the 17000 block of Edina Court in Poway on July 9. They were used the next day in stores in Carlsbad, Encinitas, San Marcos and Temecula, authorities said.

Surveillance images released by San Diego Crime Stoppers show a black man in his 30s or 40s, bald and heavy set.

Crime Stoppers offered a reward of up to $1,000 for information that leads to an arrest in the case. Anyone with information was asked to call 888-580-8477.
