Civic Center Venue of Safe Housing Seminar

The seminar will focus on "Crime Free Multi-Housing" which is a program aimed at educating and training property managers at apartment complexes in both Murrieta and Temecula.

Temecula and Murrieta police Thursday will hold a free seminar to train property managers on keeping apartment complexes crime free.

The seminar, set for 8 a.m., will be held at the , 41000 Main St.

The seminar will focus on "Crime Free Multi-Housing" which is a program aimed at educating and training property managers who manage small, medium and large multi-unit apartment complexes in Murrieta and Temecula, according to sheriff's officials.

Property managers will receive training on the program itself, along with training presented by the Fair Housing Council of Riverside County and the Apartment Association of the Greater Inland Empire.

Additional training will be provided on narcotics awareness, gang association, fire protection, code enforcement and Crime Prevention through Environmental Design.

The program is a three-phase program and upon completion of all phases, participants receive "Crime Free Multi-Housing" signs to display on their respective properties and become certified in the program, which is recognized nationally. Upon completion of the first phase of the training, attendees will receive a certificate of completion.
