Dentist Accused of Molesting Teen in Office Parking Lot

A dentist allegedly "fooled around" with a girl in a car outside his Temecula office.

A Temecula dentist was accused of "fooling around" with a 16-year-old girl in his office today.

David Martinus Reiakvam Jr., 43,  faces charges of lewd acts with two children, oral copulation with children and sexual penetration with a foreign object.

He was initially charged with the incident relating to one of the victims, and the second case came up later. He pleaded not guilty to charges related to the second case.

He appeared in court for a long-awaited preliminary hearing, during which a detective laid out the case against the man, who ran an office in Riverside and Temecula.

The dentist's preliminary hearing was delayed multiple times, once due to a snow storm stranding him on the east coast. To read about it,

The 16-year-old victim came in one day for a dental appointment in his Temecula office, which led to the two having a sexual encounter in a car parked just outside, according to Detective Laura Ellefson, who took the stand today at a courthouse in Riverside.

The younger victim, a 15-year-old girl, had at least one sexual encounter in the dentist's Riverside office, the detective said.

"Both Jane Doe number one and Jane Doe number two said they fooled around at his office," she said.

Both girls at one point lived with Reiakvam in his Riverside home while he trained them in acrogymnastics. He taught them at Empire Acrogymnastics on Market Street in Riverside until he was let go for a "scandal" involving yet another child not involved in the case, Ellefson testified today.

The office in Temecula was sold within the past two years, according to Tera Harden, Reiakvam's attorney.

The sexual relationship with the 16-year-old Reiakvam allegedly molested in Temecula allegedly started when she was only 13, the detective said.

It is so sad that our state has allowed this to happen. I remember a few years ago when the TVUSDRead More budget was horrible and teacher's were given less than $100.00 to budget their classrooms. Teachers are allowed to ask for donations but can no longer "require" students to bring in supplies for the classroom. PARENT'S need to step up to the plate!! After all these are OUR children and it's our responsibility to help them get the best education they can get. As long as people have the "entitlement" attitude with the public school system I can only see thing getting worse and not better. Please parents, help your teacher's. It does not take a fortune to pick up something extra for the classroom while buying your own child school supplies. Just my opinion!!

A skating rink with ice is more desirable. Temecula and Murrieta have lots of kids involved in iceRead More skating and hockey, but have to drive to Escondido or Riverside to participate.
