Drug Bust Nets Two Arrests, Bag of Meth

A small amount of speed found on a man during a routine traffic stop tips deputies off to search the man's home.

 

Two men were arrested and a quarter-pound of methamphetamine were seized in a drug bust in Temecula.

Luis Ruiz, 21, was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of possessing meth for sale, transporting the drug, maintaining an unlawful residence, violating probation and being under the influence, sheriff's Sgt. Vance Stolte announced today.

Douglas Louthen, 45, was arrested on suspicion of possessing meth and being under the influence.

A routine traffic stop triggered the bust. A deputy pulled Ruiz over around 3 p.m. at Margarita and Moraga roads. During the stop, the deputy found a few grams of methamphetamine on him, the sergeant said in a written report.

Temecula's Special Enforcement Task Force got a search warrant on Ruiz's home in the 29600 block of Deal Court and found more meth, several hundred dollars in cash and various paraphernalia generally used in selling the drug.

The investigation is ongoing, and anybody with information was asked to call 951-696-3000.
