DUI Checkpoint Announced for Temecula

A DUI/driver's license checkpoint will be held this holiday weekend in Temecula, sheriff's officials announced Monday.

The operation-- which will be held at an undisclosed location-- will run from 9 p.m. Friday into 3 a.m. Saturday, according to sheriff's sergeant John Magnan.

"Checkpoints are placed in locations that have the greatest opportunity for achieving drunk and drugged driving deterrence and provide the greatest safety for officers and the public," Magnan said in a press release.

Funding for the operation is provided via state and federal grants.
