Elderly Pedestrian Killed in Crash

The 81-year-old man died in a hospital after being hit on Deer Hollow Way.

A pedestrian who was hit by a car died hours later in a hospital, a coroner announced today.

Dong Hwan Ihn, 81, was walking his dog across Deer Hollow Way about 400 feet east of Pechanga Parkway at about 7:06 p.m. Sunday when a black four-door car hit him.

The victim died at 9:47 p.m. at Inland Valley Medical Center in Wildomar, according to the sheriff's coroner's office.

The impact shattered the car's windshield, and the sheriff's department was investigating the cause today, according to Cpl. Courtney Donowho.
