Fight Over Woman Leads to Stabbing

Adrian Levar Blackmon was tracked down in Murrieta this morning after allegedly stabbing a man Monday at a Temecula apartment complex. The fight was over a woman, authorities said.

A 33-year-old Murrieta man was arrested today on suspicion of attempted murder after he allegedly stabbed another man in a fight over a woman, authorities said.

The alleged stabbing occurred in Temecula at around 10 p.m. Monday at the Sommerset Apartments in the 42000 block of Stonewood Avenue, said Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Kevin McDonald.

Deputies found the 24-year-old victim in the parking lot with several stab wounds in his back and side, the sergeant said.

The suspect, Adrian Levar Blackmon, drove off before the deputies arrived, he said, but was tracked down at an apartment complex in Murrieta this morning.

Blackmon and the victim had fought over a 22-year-old woman who lives at the apartment complex, according to McDonald. The sergeant did not say how the two men knew her.

"The suspect produced a knife and used it to stab the victim multiple times,'' McDonald said of the allegations.  

Blackmon was booked into the Southwest Detention Center on suspicion of attempted murder. No bail information was yet available.
The victim, whose name was not released, was taken to Inland Valley
Regional Medical Center for treatment.

"His condition has improved and he is expected to recover from his injuries,'' the sergeant said.
