A fire broke out Saturday in the garage of a Temecula home -- causing an estimated $80,000 damage -- but no injuries were reported and the home was left intact, Cal Fire officials said.
The blaze in the 42000 block of Via Renate was reported at 1:19 p.m., Cal Fire officials said.
Arriving firefighters spotted heavy smoke coming from the garage of a single-story, single-family home, according to Cal Fire's Melody Hendrickson.
Black smoke could be seen at least one mile away, as fire trucks could be heard racing to the scene.
Some 20 firefighters made quick work of the blaze -- containing it at 1:40 p.m. -- but not before the building and a vehicle inside were destroyed, Hendrickson said.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
