Firefighters Free Victim Trapped in Crash on I-15 at Winchester Road

The single-car crash was reported at 9:08 a.m. Thursday on southbound I-15 at Winchester Road in Temecula.

A person became trapped and suffered moderate injuries Thursday morning in a wreck on Interstate 15 at Winchester Road in Temecula, a fire official reported.

The single-car crash was reported at 9:08 a.m. Thursday on southbound I-15, according to Melody Hendrickson, spokeswoman for CAL FIRE/Riverside County Fire Department.

Eleven firefighters responded and performed a “cut-and-rescue” maneuver to free the person from the wreckage, Hendrickson wrote in an incident report.

The victim was extricated by about 9:28 a.m. and transported to an area hospital via ground ambulance with moderate injuries, according to Hendrickson.
