Lightning Strikes May Have Ignited Monday's Fire In Anza

The blaze has not been fully contained as of Monday afternoon.

A brush fire that scorched around 15 acres in rugged terrain near Anza was partially contained today.

The non-injury blaze was reported around 12:20 p.m. near the intersection of Reservation Road and Apple Lane, in the Table Mountain area, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

A dozen engine crews, two water tender crews and four inmate hand crews - - numbering around 100 personnel -- had stopped the fire's forward progress by 3:30 p.m. with the help of four air tankers and a water-dropping helicopter, according to a fire department spokeswoman.
