Liquid Meth Smuggling Attempt Thwarted By U.S. Border Patrol

The liquid meth weighed 42.22 pounds and had an estimated street value of $844,400, an official with the agency said.

A U.S. Border Patrol official is reporting the agency halted a drug smuggling attempt on Interstate 15 near Temecula early Monday morning.

U.S. Border Patrol Agent Jerry Conlin said the incident began when agents stopped a 23-year-old U.S. citizen around 3 a.m. at the freeway checkpoint just south of Temecula. The man, whose identity has not been released by authorities, was driving a 2002 GMC Envoy.

“Agents became suspicious of the driver and his male passenger’s nervous demeanors and referred them for a secondary inspection,” Conlin stated in a news release. “A Border Patrol K-9 team performed a cursory inspection ... resulting in an alert to the front and rear of the vehicle.”

According to Conlin, agents searched the Envoy and found liquid methamphetamine inside four shampoo bottles and two antifreeze containers in the vehicle’s rear cargo area; additional liquid meth was also discovered inside the windshield washer reservoir.

The illicit narcotic weighed 42.22 pounds and had an estimated street value of $844,400, Conlin stated.

The suspected smugglers were arrested and are being held in Department of Homeland Security custody; the drugs were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration and the vehicle was seized by the U.S. Border Patrol, Conlin said.

With so much of this turning up at the BP checkpoint, it's an indication that a lot more is getting through these days. Well, finally Mexico is increasing trade with the US. That ought to spur economic growth in that third world country - right? Not when all the money goes to drug lords who have houses in the US and put all their money in us and other nations' banks. This is the economic-immigration connection. All the money that goes into Mexico doesn't benefit Mexican people. Mexico has plenty of money. The richest man in the world is a Mexican - Carlos Slim. The problem with Mexico is uneven distribution of wealth. Unfortunately cheap labor is not the only Mexican export the the US,

Hmm True Rev. Course if we make the drugs legal the prices will go down, and then Mexico will not make as much money, and the USA can stop giving them tanks and all other military vehicles, equipments, and weaponsof every shape and size plus another 20 million cash to fight the drug war. We can never stop it all from coming through. As much as they have apprehended this week, can you imagine just how much is wizzing right through? Its unfathomable. REV, the cheap labor. A pregnant young woman can pay around 5k to get transported here and are treated like gold, why do you ask? That baby will guarantee her whole family gets here. Everything these people do are well thought out and we think they are ignorant? Well think again compadre. Now to transport a young man who will be working for the drug lords up here its about 1500k, and about 2000 for other women. Again women are more expensive as they get fake ID's and a nanny/housekeeper job fast. Whats sad is they then go on to continue paying for their indenture to whoever paid their way. Usually the drug lord who paid and then helps her get her family here. Wont be long before California goes back to Mexico. Hell now with the free college educations our kids are already waiting 1 to 2 semesters to get the classes they need.
