Local CHP Officers Receive MADD Awards

Due to their excellence in DUI recognition and apprehension, four Temecula Area CHP officers, Greg Velasco, Steve Whelan, Ron Thatcher and Juan Garcia, were recognized Feb. 20 with MADD awards.

Four Temecula Area CHP Officers were recognized Feb. 20 for their efforts toward taking drunk drivers off the road.

The Law Enforcement Recognition and DUI Training Seminar was held at the Riverside Event Auditorium, and was attended by the California Office of Traffic Safety, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and Riverside County AVOID the 30.

Due to their excellence in DUI recognition and apprehension, four Temecula Area CHP officers, Greg Velasco, Steve Whelan, Ron Thatcher and Juan Garcia, were recognized with MADD awards.

The hard work and dedication of these four officers led to the arrests of 284 suspected DUI drivers in 2012. The CHP Temecula Area office commends these officers in their dedication to provide safety, service, and security to the people of California.
