Local Hiking Areas Closed Because of Fire Danger

Closures went into effect Tuesday and will remain in effect until further notice.

The Riverside County Board of Supervisors authorized the closing of seven hiking areas in the county, including one in Sage.

Hiking in Minto - in the area of Sage - is affected by the closure.

Other areas affected include the Ramona Bowl and Bautista Canyon.

Hiking in the proscribed area could lead to fines of $100 each for first-time offenses, according to a Cal Fire news release.
