Man Pleas Guilty to Trying to Seduce 12-Year-Old Girl

A French Valley man accused of trying to talk his stepdaughter's 12-year-old friend into having sex struck a plea bargain today.

Johannes Antonio Pena, 46, pleaded guilty to giving harmful materials to a minor with the intent to seduce, according to court records.

Pena stayed up late one night with the girl during a sleepover and showed her pornography on his computer, the witness testified during a court hearing in August.

He also caressed her and told her stories of his sexual exploits, the girl testified. The girl told her parents what happened a few days later, and the man was arrested in December.

He was sentenced to serve 116 days in jail and 36 months probation, according to court records.

Jury selection started for his trial on Monday at the in French Valley. Judge Albert Wojcik told them the matter was resolved, their services were no longer needed, and he excused them today.
