Teen Wanted for Stalking 12-Year-Old Girls

A man tried to talk two 12-year-old girls into getting into his jeep, but they ran away, an official says.

A man and at least one other suspect who followed two 12-year-old girls home and tried to talk them into getting into their vehicle were at large today.

The girls were walking home from a store around 12:20 p.m. Sunday on Temecula Creek Road near Pacific Sunset Drive when the driver of a Jeep or similar sport utility vehicle started following them, according to sheriff's Sgt. Jon Wade.

The girls told investigators that a rear seat passenger rolled down his window and asked them if they wanted a lift, which they declined.

"The suspects began laughing and drove away,'' Wade said. "The vehicle continued down the street, made a U-turn and pulled alongside the girls a second time. This time, the rear passenger told the girls to `get in the car.' The victims ran from the vehicle and headed toward their home.''

Deputies searched the area but could not find the suspects, according to Wade.

The rear seat passenger was described as white male 16 to 18 years old with sandy blond hair worn in a buzz cut and wearing a white T-shirt. The driver of the vehicle was never seen, Wade said.

The SUV was black, with a box configuration and had large knobby tires.

Anyone with information was asked to call the sheriff's Southwest station at 951-696-3000.
