A man who groped a woman as she changed clothes in a dressing room at a Temecula mall pleaded guilty today to misdemeanor battery and was immediately sentenced to three years probation.

Leonard Dominic Rudzinski, 58, was arrested in December 2012 after the encounter with a customer at the Promenade Mall in the 40800 block of Winchester Road.

During a status hearing at the Southwest Justice Center in Murrieta, the prosecution and defense notified Riverside County Superior Court Judge Raquel Marquez that a plea deal had been reached in the case.

In addition to probation, Rudzinski will serve a day in jail and complete 20 hours of community service. He was also ordered not to have any contact with the victim.

Around 2:30 p.m. last Dec. 13, a woman was trying on clothes at the Hollister store when the defendant walked into her wardrobe room and fondled her, according to sheriff's investigators.

The victim screamed, drawing the attention of staff and other customers, who witnessed Rudzinski fleeing and called 911.

Deputies were able to locate and detain him still in the mall. Rudzinski was positively identified by witnesses and booked into jail. He posted $3,500 bail and was released a short time later.

According to court records, prosecutors initially filed a charge of sexual battery in the case, but the count was amended a month later for unspecified reasons. --City News Service

I wonder why the charge of sexual battery was amended or dropped? That guy is a Freak MONSTER and that should be marked on him for life! I also hope that woman did more than scream, maybe she injured him in his 'unmanly parts' and that is why he was caught still in the mall cause he couldn't run away. Gahhhhhh, to many MONSTERS!

I wonder also why it would be dropped. Only 1 day in jail and misdemeanor battery??? This is a sex crime. Disgusting.

Really? In Hollister? He should be required to register as a sex offender. CREEP!

I'd also like to know why the charges were dropped. This man is a sexual predator. These sorts only get more brazen. I would be very surprised if this incident wasn't his first, nor his last.

If it was in Hollister then I can only imagine that the female was / is quite young. Unless shopping for your child, a grown man has zero business being in Hollister it is equivalent to going to a water park without children. … They should let Bubba grope behind bars…

@ Raquel Marquez, when I was 16 years old I stole some cologne from Macy's during the holiday season's. I received 75 hours of community service from the "JOLT" program. NUFF SAID. I didn't get a plea, non-violent crime offenders don't get a plea. Disgusting. Keep arresting those that have marijuana on them and continue to let the rapists and gropers set free into the community.

Gee that will stop him from doing it again....

This guy is very lucky that a husband or father did not beat the crap out of him before he was arrested.
