Man’s Face Stabbed In Temecula

According to a report from the Temecula Police Department, a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the face and arm Aug. 6 during a failed attempt to sell marijuana in Temecula.

Two men were arrested following an alleged drug deal that escalated into a stabbing, police are reporting.

Ricardo Kundev, 20, and Benjamin Modesto, 32, both of San Jacinto, were arrested Tuesday around 11 a.m.

According to a report from the Temecula Police Department, a 20-year-old man was stabbed in the face and arm Aug. 6 during a failed attempt to sell marijuana in Temecula.

Police did not disclose the location of the stabbing or the victim’s identity.

“The victim suffered serious injuries requiring treatment and hospitalization, but is recovering,” the report read.

Investigators from the Temecula Police Department worked the case and identified a suspect. Tuesday they served a search warrant in the 1200 Block of Commonwealth Avenue in San Jacinto and arrested Kundev, who was booked on suspicion of possession of marijuana for sale, and Modesto, who was booked on suspicion of possession of a machine gun, jail records show.

Both suspects were booked into the Southwest Detention Center, but according to jail records were released on bail.

Both are due in court Oct. 15.
