Missing Carlsbad Teen Found Safe in Temecula

At-risk juvenile Christine Jelinek had been missing since Jan. 4, according to Carlsbad police.

Riverside County sheriff's today found a teenager who had been missing since Jan. 4.

Carlsbad police were immediately notified that Christine Jelinek, 17, was safe and in good health, according to CPD officials.

According to Carlsbad Police Detective Sergeant Steve Thomas, “A Good Samaritan noticed Christine walking down a street in Temecula and recognized her from the circulated missing person’s information.

"The Samaritan immediately notified the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department.”

The sergeant said the teen was walking down a Temecula road with others to a place for breakfast.

Christine was .  Christine was found to be in good health and was to be reunited with her family.

The investigation has determined that the was not found to be related to the incident and is no longer sought by Carlsbad Police.  The Carlsbad Police Department would like thank all those who helped circulate Christine’s information, leading to her safe return.
