Mobile Home Destroyed in Winchester Fire

The blaze devours four acres and a power line goes down.

A mobile home was destroyed in a four-acre fire in Winchester today.
The fire started around 2:30 p.m. on Catlin and Truelson avenues, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.

When firefighters arrived, they found the home and an acre of grass aflame. Seven engines, a truck, a helicopter and 47 firefighters worked on the blaze, according to Cheri Patterson of the fire department.

It consumed four acres before being controlled around 4:45 p.m., according to Patterson.
