Motorcycle Wrecked, Driver Nowhere to Be Found

The bike looks like it was in a crash, but a search turned up no owner.

A motorcycle that looks as though it crashed was discovered today, but the owner was nowhere to be found.

The bike was reported just around 12:45 p.m. on the east shoulder of Margarita Road just north of Winchester Road, according to sheriff’s dispatchers.

Emergency workers found the vehicle, which was damaged as though it crashed. Firefighters found the chinstrap for a helmet nearby, though a search of the road’s shoulder and nearby creek with infrared scanners turned up no driver.

The vehicle was stripped down and had no license plates – or even a speedometer – though the VIN was intact, and the motorcycle was not reported stolen, according to firefighters on the scene.

Firefighters were unable to find a witness to any crash, and an investigation is ongoing. Anybody with information was asked to call the Temecula Police Department at 951-696-3000.
