The murder trial of four marines was pushed back to March at the earliest.

A change in attorney for one of the defendants caused the delay, defense said during a Friday hearing.

Doug Myers began representing Kesaun Kedron Sykes about two months ago, and he needs time to review the case, the attorney said.

The marines, which incudes Kevin Cox, Emrys Justin John and Tyrone Miller, were accused of storming into a young couple's home in French Valley in 2008, tying them up, tormenting them and shooting them at point-blank range in an attempt to rob them of a nonexistent store of money.

Sykes, the defendant who got a new attorney, was recently analyzed for sanity after he urinated into his hand and threw it around the courtroom, saying he was banishing demons.

Since the incident, he has appeared in court for most hearings wearing padded mitts on his hands.
