Old Town Drug Sales Suspects Arrested

Two men were booked following the service of search warrants at homes in Old Town by gang investigators who learned of drug sales in the residences.

Two men from Temecula were taken into custody Wednesday, following the service of search warrants in Old Town by sheriff's gang investigators, officials said.

Angel Pena, 22, of Temecula, was to be booked on suspicion of possession of a firearm, possession of methamphetamine for sale, maintaining an unlawful place, possession of paraphernalia and a parole violation.

Pena is a documented gang member, according to sheriff's investigators.

George Deloera, 37, of Temecula, was arrested on suspicion of possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance and committing a felony while out on bail.

The warrant was served at homes in the 41800 Block of Fourth Street Wednesday morning, according to Riverside County sheriff's Sgt. Vance Stolte.

Investigators had received a tip that the men were involved in methamphetamine sales.

A search of the homes yielded a shotgun, methamphetamine and narcotics paraphernalia; items consistent with drug sales were also found, the sergeant said.

Thank god for whoever tipped off the Police and great job serving the warrant and getting two of these guys off the street, got the drugs, guns and anything else they have been selling to our kids or using on crimes, burglaries, of course if they are found guilty. **cough** I feel the PD is cracking down more, finally, on the busier all the time drug traffic'ing, manufacturing, sales etc going on in Southeast. I am happy, stick to it guys and gals.

Opps, someone was saying a week or back in comments that in addition to vehicle stops the police are doing that bicycle or more patrol cars should be in old town to also perhaps curtail some of the crime going on over there now, and drunkedness. Whoever that was, I think you are right.

Ya there have been some scum bags hanging around Old Town, need to clean that place up a bit . The Taj Mahal City Hall looks a bit out of place.
Paul August 02, 2012 at 04:28 PM
Great Job to the Police, problem is they will back on the street before the ink is dry. Both of them are repeaters one on bail the other on parole. I mean come on people why is so hard for our society to just say enough these two will never serve any purpose on earth, rather than waste money on trials and prison you put a 22 right in the back of their head and end it. Isn't it time we finally wake up and understand that these low life's serve no purpose on earth other then costing us money.
Brenda August 02, 2012 at 08:13 PM
True on that one 5150. :/
Brenda August 02, 2012 at 08:14 PM
Yep JJ, right again, and gang ones at that of course. :/
Brenda August 02, 2012 at 08:54 PM
I unfortnately have to agree with you Paul. And if we did crack down like a dang car cruncher on these guys we would put a stop to some of our drug problems. But I dont want to pay for anymore of them to be put in jail, we need to get them all out of jail, and anymore coming thru the courts on a chain gang like we used to do building the great wall between California and Mexico. They need to EARN their keep, green, white, brown, black, no color exceptions here, or nationalities. This putting them in a cushy air conditioned hotel where they can rule the roost and vote in their own Presidents and councils to combat prison issues days should be OVER. We are the land of the free alright, we don't even punish criminals like a criminal should be. Until we work as a unit in this country instead of fighting over who has what "SEAT" the things that really need a change to fix this country are not going to ever happen like our punishments and sentences for crime.

I thought George worked at the liquor store /market in old town, how could he have done anything like this? This has gotta be the dumbest arrest report, I bought coffee from his workplace, and he was always nice, we're putting the wrong people in jail here, cmon please
Brenda August 04, 2012 at 06:31 AM
Henry I say the same type thing everytime something involves a teacher, a priest, pastor, married family man, Doctor, Police Officer, teenagers, etc. neighbor, how could they do this crime, or being charged with it. Maybe someone is wrong, how could this person do something like this. I knew someone who committed a murder, I lived with him and his fiance at a young age roomates, he worked for my dad, could NOT believe it. Then he started saying little clues, wierd things that would make me go "no, cant be, he couldnt have", and it took them a few years match blood, they went out to talk to him and he had married had two more children, was out of work, and heavilly into drugs, and he admitted killing this girl the 7 yrs before. :/ So the hints he was dropping, that I was picking up on was clues along the way over those 7 yrs before they got what they needed for evidence. So you NEVER know. Often I think if only these people realized that someone liked them, cared about them maybe they wouldnt do these crimes. :/ I don't know.

They really need to clean up Old Town. I was out there over the weekend, and there was only one patrol out there. I have seen some trouble makers out there.

What's really sad is DeLoera's mother and grandmother. His mother works hard caring for her aging mother and this is what he son brings into her home. Deloera is an admitted habitual user and seller for that matter. This was not just a one time watch and see event. This is the second search warrant conducted with bountiful results. For the person that said "How could he have done this ..." apparently, buying coffee entitles you to be all knowing of someone. Crap is Crap no matter where they work or who they sell coffee too. Deloera will admit what he does .. he knows. Bola on the other hand will deny .... knucklehead must have innocently forgot that a felon in possession of a firearm is no bueno. He's only been in and out of the system, since like ... birth and now he forgets .... yeah, WHATEVER!!!! And the dope ... well lets just say that from what I was told, it was a sizable amount, not for personal use ... but to sell .... Like I said, Deloera's grandmother is in the last stages of her life and her "wonderful" grandson chooses to reward her in this way, repeatedly. And his mother, probably one if the nicest person's you want to know ... disgraceful. He and Bola just need to disappear for good ... Maybe the inmates in jail will take matters into their own hands ...

Half of the people on here are ignorant. Has anyone ever considered the fact that things are dramatized in newspapers???If all the above was true then a d.a. would have be pressing charges hellllllo!George is already home and Angel will be shortly.I guess felons can have firearms then right?Ever stop to think the weapon wasn't his. There is a handful of people in the house who do still have the right to own a weapon! And to Tristen(which I'm guessing is an alias) no one really gives a rats ass about your opinion. You speak as if you know but really you have no idea.FYI Bola is NOT being charged with selling because that "sizeable" amount really wasn't to sizeable! You really act like the inmates in jail are going to take matters into their own hands when most of them are in there for way worse of crimes.Im very curious to see who you really are and why you are so informed in both George and Bola's lives so much yet non of us have ever heard of you.

I was going to post on an older Old Town article a week or so ago, but I didn't. Now I will. With friends like all of you posters, obviously these two guys don't need enemies. You are threatening to kill people now who have posted here and half of what you write is so gangster or horrible grammar only you guys can understand it. Old Town has and is daily becoming the Bad part of town which is SAD as it is a Touristy type attraction for us. I noticed it when I was there last, and I have heard a few young ladies wont stop there after work anymore, or to go out on the weekends because of the gang, drug activity going on. I thought it might have been a fluke the last time I was there, but now with this arrest and all of your comments I can see unfortunately that the Police need to pump up the pressure and clean it out and FAST. Only one Officer there??? You all think you are something important spouting your who knows what and you are not anything but looking more ignorant and providing more information for the Prosecution. Prosecution, as in, who will be prosecuting these two men, and perhaps some of YOU now. Sheriff's start now with the bulldozer trucks and wipe them out one at a time, nice and slow before this becomes Los Angeles and facinity.

Hey Stop swearing on this site and threatening people. If it is print, you can be prosecuted. Patch asks that you keep your language clean and your tone civil.

george is the nicest person ever!. hes always polite to people at the market. hes never mean or rude, good hearted fella. sales in the community is one thing, but if the police are crowding up the jails with our tax paying dollars for ppl that have addictions. Doesnt seem effecient for society or the individual, who has an addiction and in need for help and support not a night in the cell. omg ppl in temecula walk around with their head in the air, sniffing their own farts. The people in this town are complaining about the bad going on in temecula, which is comparatively less of a problem than what other towns in riverside are facing. Temecula you want to clean up the neighborhood, then help one another out. I went to the city meetings on Tuesday nights. CAN U BELIEVE THE CITY REFUSES TO HELP THE HOMELESS by building a shelter. Their reasoning, temecula doesn't have a homeless problem, they are only transients. Ugh wheres the compassion. Im not talking a hand out, but everyone needs a helping hand once in awhile. I hope george gets better. Anyone that meets him will say hes a kind guy, he just needs some help. DONT ACT LIKE YOU arent addicted to cigarettes, smoking around your children. No one goes to jail for that!. sales is unacceptable for our community, but lets help fix the problem not brush it under the rug by putting him in jail over night. FIX THE SYSTEM!!

And people leaving comments about what they heard. STOP. you act worse than my little siblings. Yeah real mature, put some things out there that arent facts just something you overheard. No one is condoning what is going on!!!!!!!!!!. however you ppl act like your poop dont stink. ! Stop judging people, your lucky the press dont put ur info out there so we can start talking about you.
anns August 21, 2012 at 04:32 PM
Everyones acting like hes a bad guy. Come on temecula, how you gonna have all these hydroponic shops, a department size smoke shop but as soon as someone gets caught with some other stuff its a big deal. Please. worried about cleaning up the ppl in old town, look around you! half the soccer moms are picking up at the dispensaries daily !!! bunch of HYPOs

It's unfortunate this country does not have rehab facilities we had at one time. Free or low cost ones, or ones covered by insurance or donations. There are people who do want help but there is no where for them to go except county hospital and that is as bad as jail if not worse with fights etc. of the mental health patients in there. Its not even for rehab help. Again if we werent feeding every illegal in our country of EVERY COLOR and country we could afford to get some of our programs back like rehab help for people just like this man. But we are not all Lyndsay Lohan and all these other movie stars who can afford 5k a day at a private lush place on the beach or up in the mountains for a month or 6 months for rehab services. Stars sure do not give donations or give theier money to open new facilities for low income people that need help and this is one of the worse medical, mental, drug problem in our country today. People on drugs far outnumber every type of illness we are trying to cure, and drug addictions we can HEAL, we can help if we had facilities. I have known several people through my lifetime that needed help with addictions and I am speaking of wives, husbands, VPs of companies, never had drug problems, but something happens, and it starts, then you cant stop, and there has been no help for them that they can afford. Or the parents that cannot afford to send their children to one :/ As a parent its devastating to not be able to help your child!

Great comment Brenda. I agree we need to focus more on "treatment" rather than offer no treatment and having a jail as the designated "treatment center". I am not defending the drug addicts who DUI, steal cars, stereos, etc. Those people need "criminal consequences" when they begin violating the rights of others. Our illegal drug market is fueling money right into the hands of the illegals. Most of the illegals selling drugs in this country and through Mexico are not getting caught, only some do. Most get rich. Over 1/3 of Mexico's GDP is from illicit narcotics. The demand for drugs in a country of 300 million people is not going away. Strong criminalization against the "user" drives up the price sky high, draining the already apathetic addict of their income. Eventually, in some people this will lead to "criminal activity" for them to survive while funding their habit, especially since their real family and friends who care about them won't give them any money to support their habit. Something needs to change in the way this country is addressing its drug problem. Throwing all the users in jail is not working. Surrounded by criminals isn't what an addict needs. They just buy drugs that are still available and sold in the jail and learn "new ways" of criminality after being surrounded by those people. The "losers" of this policy are mainline society and the users... and the drug dealers and corrupt elements are the "winners".
Brenda August 22, 2012 at 01:19 AM
Nice Andy, and perfectly said. The separation of the addicts and criminals is something I should have made clear as you did, and you are indeed correct. When these people become addicts to drugs or alcohol they will do anything to get more. On intervention last night there was a young gorgeous girl who had something happen to her in college, she had been doing great, however addiction of alcohol was an issue with her mother. Because of this thing that happened to her in college, she left there, and started drinking, and to support herself she began stripping. When she stopped stripping, she was turning tricks for money to get enough each day for the alcohol. Dont know if anyone watched it, but this girl had been and done everything good, cheerleading, played several instruments, great grades, danced etc. etc. then was anorexic and near her death bed. It took being on this show airing some pretty rough personal things and family issues to get this free help, and then the embarrassment of them telling the audience at the end that she had relapsed once so far but was back sober, and that the mom had dropped out of her rehab 8 weeks into it and went home. So further embarrassment to deal with. If we got the drugs out of here, bring in the military to do it, and the rehab places built we could win this. But hell hard to do that now that college for illegals is tax payers responsiblity.
Andy August 22, 2012 at 03:16 AM
Agree Brenda. Sad story. People try and escape and don't know how to get out when their life becomes rough... or not care to get out if lets say they live in an abusive household or negative environment. However, an atmosphere of "compassion" and helping them work through their problems is what will help them get back "on their feet". That is why I'm against jailing users who have not violated the rights of others. The legal system does not have a future incentive for the "recovered addicts" who have been clean off drugs for years. They are still "felons" and have a hard time finding work, especially in this economy. Which could easily bring people like that to becoming users again or even sellers for the money. It is embarrassing... and drug users often refuse treatment for the stigma. It's not viewed that much of an "illness" in our society, but rather criminal. We sit here and make fun of countries like the Netherlands and Portugal, but their society is much better of than ours with the issue of drugs... while our society is crumbling into a neo-Mexico. If this country continues its same status quo failed "drug war" policy, we will just continue deteriorating until we reach a status of "First World Mexico"... Watch! That is why there is so much "drug reform" talk lately, especially over marijuana (which should be legal. marijuana is not like crack, meth, heroin, pharmaceuticals... you never see "only-pot" on intervention!), because things are going bad, fast!
